With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Megan has established herself as a highly respected attorney, dedicated to upholding the highest standards of legal practice.
Megan earned a BS in Criminal Justice Cum Laude from St. John's University and completed her JD at St. John's Law School in an impressive 2 1/2 years. During her time at St. John's Law School, she served as the Director of Trials with the Criminal Law Institute and received a partial scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence.
A member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Megan has a wealth of experience in both public and private sectors. She served with the Nassau County District Attorney's office from 1985 to 2012, where she honed her skills as a prosecutor and earned a reputation for her dedication to justice. From 2012 to 2020, Megan was a Special Assistant Attorney General with the New York State Attorney General's office, further demonstrating her commitment to public service and the pursuit of justice.
After retiring from New York State Attorney General’s office, she went into private practice as a criminal defense attorney. In addition, she was an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra Law School. Thereafter, in 2023 she became a Partner and the Head of the Criminal Division at The Law Offices of Christina Sammartino, PLLC, specializing in Criminal Defense, Elder Law, Estate and Trust Planning, Real Estate, Probate, Estate Administration, and Special Needs Planning.
Outside of her legal career, Megan has been married to Raymond P. Gallagher, CPA, for 35 years and is a devoted mother to her daughter Erin, and two sons Raymond, and Michael, in addition to her two granddaughters, Adalynn and Sadie. In her free time, Megan enjoys yoga, antiquing, spending time with friends, and cherishing time with her family.
